Mats Reiniusson is an accomplished composer and musician who creates music for film, television, and ensembles. Recently, he composed a music score inspired by 17th-century counterpoint for the orchestra Gotlandsmusiken in Sweden. The score featured woodwinds, vibraphone, double bass, synthesizer, and bowed electric bass. Mats is an award-winning film music composer, having received recognition for his work on films.

Mats has received musical education and training from some of the world’s most respected institutions, including the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, The Gotland School of Music Composition, Linné University, Uppsala University, Stockholm University and the Mannis School of Music in New York. Additionally, he is a highly versatile recording and performing musician on bass guitar across a wide range of musical styles, from contemporary music to pop, rock, funk, art-rock, blues and a music producer.

Aside from his musical abilities, Mats is also an experienced sound editor, designer, and mixer for film. He has worked on a number of highly sophisticated art-film projects, including “Memory Hatches,” “Air Intoxication,” “Hourglass,” “Rites of Spring,” among others. Mats has also worked as a sound effects editor for “Every Other Week” by Fladenfilm among others and made complete sound for the US feature film “Homeland.” He has spent five years as an Audio Producer at TV station Kanal 5 in Stockholm. Mats’ work in sound also extends to art installations, including “Voices from the Past” in Ramnäs and “Once upon a time a village…” at Stollberga Mine in Dalarna, both created by M. Backman. He has been responsible for the sound mix and editing of “American Gothic” at the Currents International Festival, sound installation “Winter Tales” by Fern Seiden at 826 Gallery Santa Fe, as well as the music and sound design for the ambisonic film/music installation “Gravity” in Visby, Gotland, Sweden, in 2021.
